Therefore, it is not recommended to treat them manually. Sometimes, due to their weight, it is not possible to manipulate them manually at all.

The advantages of a roller rotator

With the reel rotator of Logitrans it is possible to manipulate reels weighing up to 500 kg. Thanks to the large clamps, this device can lift the reels without damaging them.

Clamping in this way offers another major advantage. With a coregripper it is possible to pick up the roll through the core. This makes it possible for heavy rolls to telescope.

The roller rotator puts enough tension through clamping so that this telescoping cannot happen.

Telescoping is a phenomenon that occasionally occurs in roll handling. By taking the roll via the core, it is possible that the core is pulled out. This makes the reel almost unusable.

Safety first

Apart from its practicality, the roller rotator is also a very safe lifting device.

The gripping arms are secured so that they can never open, as long as the unit does not feel pressure that the roller is resting on something.

In addition, the clamps are covered with rubber to achieve the highest possible friction. As a result, the roller rotator does not have to apply too much force to lift a roller, which again limits possible damage.

When rotating electrically, the unit can only rotate from a height of 825 mm. This prevents the gripping arms from snagging on the ground or the unit's legs.

Important to remember

Besides the standard roller rotator, it is also possible to obtain a wide track version. This is capable of lifting the roll from the ground or placing a roll on the ground.

If you want to lift a roll and tilt it 90° before placing it on the ground, it is recommended to combine this device with the roll lifter, so that the rolls can be handled safely.
